Vocal Recording
We provide a dedicated environment where singers, narrators, and voice actors can capture the full nuance of their voice. Located in the Naka-ku district of Yokohama, our studio features a vocal booth with precise acoustic treatment to ensure clear, dense, and professional sound capture.
Recording is more than just capturing audio; it is a process of optimizing a performance. At Maravediflow, our engineers work to understand the artist's intent, selecting the appropriate microphone and gain settings to create high-quality raw materials that translate effectively during the mixing stage.
Our vocal booth is designed to isolate external noise and control internal reflections. This allows us to record everything from delicate whisper vocals to dynamic shouts without distortion or unwanted room resonance.
Four Steps to Your Recording
-
Consultation and Booking
We discuss the number of tracks, genre, and estimated time required. To confirm the booking, a 30% deposit is required as per our studio policy. -
Setup and Calibration
Upon arrival, the engineer selects a large-diaphragm condenser microphone suited to your vocal characteristics and completes the setup with pop filters and stands. -
The Recording Session
The engineer provides guidance from the control room, allowing for multiple takes until the desired result is achieved. Punch-ins are performed for specific phrase corrections. -
Review and Delivery
We select the successful takes and export them as high-resolution WAV files for final delivery.
Who Is This Service For?
Maravediflow's vocal recording services are designed for clients with the following requirements:
- Singer-songwriters who have reached the technical limits of home recording setups.
- Artists seeking professional engineering direction to improve their vocal delivery and consistency.
- Podcasters and voice-over artists who require noise-free, transparent audio for commercial use.
- Composers needing high-quality vocal stems for a larger production project.
We specifically support creators in the Yokohama area who need a focused workspace and professional equipment selection to ensure their recordings meet industry standards.
Studio Workflow and Technical Approach
Every session begins with a rehearsal to adjust the distance and angle between the vocalist and the microphone. In vocal recording, a difference of a few centimeters can significantly alter the tonal balance, so we treat this calibration carefully.
During the actual recording, the engineer monitors waveforms in real-time to prevent clipping while maintaining sufficient headroom. This ensures that when compressors and EQs are applied during mixing, the sound retains its musicality and depth.
We maintain a professional environment for all ages; however, clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian. For adult artists, we ensure a seamless communication link between the booth and the control room to maintain creative flow.
Client Preparation Checklist
To ensure the session is efficient and time is used effectively, we ask clients to prepare the following:
- Instrumental Tracks: Please provide backing tracks in WAV format (44.1kHz/24-bit or higher recommended).
- Lyrics and Structure: Bring a clear copy of the lyrics with marked sections for phrasing and timing.
- Guide Vocals: A simple demo recording of the melody helps the engineer understand the arrangement quickly.
- Hydration: We recommend bringing water or tea to maintain vocal health during long sessions.
For more detailed instructions on how to prepare for your first visit, please refer to our Guide to Recording Preparation.
